WHY I’M RUNNING

Let’s work together for a better Southwest Washington.

I was born and raised in a three generation Clark County family. I know that when workers and working families get the investments they deserve, then we all get ahead. Throughout my career as a Laborer and union organizer, I have always fought to create better working environments and opportunities for others to succeed. As State Representative, I will prioritize that Southwest Washington gets infrastructure and maintenance dollars out of the capital budget, which provide family-wage jobs and keep our roads in great condition so we can travel to where we need to be: jobs, schools, grocery stores and everywhere in between.

We need to tackle the childcare accessibility and affordability crisis that is hampering all of our working families. It shouldn’t cost an arm and a leg to have high-quality childcare! There needs to be more investment in training ample workers and ensuring safe – and fun - childcare centers. Like many Southwest Washingtonians, I worry about keeping our neighborhoods safe for our children and families. It is clear we need appropriate and necessary funding of our police, firefighters and emergency medical professionals.
